The Costa Brava
The coast worth leaving the city for
- What it is
- The rocky coast north of Barcelona around Tossa de Mar, Begur and Cadaqués — coves rather than long beaches, and considerably better than anything within the city.
- Getting there
- Buses from Estació del Nord take one to two hours; the local train up to Blanes is cheaper and slower.
- When to go
- June and September. July and August are expensive and full.
- On a student budget
- A day return is usually €15–25 depending how far you go. Cadaqués is the prettiest and the hardest to reach; Tossa is the easy first trip.
