Going out
A student city that actually behaves like one
- What it is
- Salamanca's nightlife is disproportionate to its size because the population is so young. It is concentrated around Gran Vía, Van Dyck and the streets off Plaza Mayor.
- Getting there
- Walkable. Nothing is more than fifteen minutes from anything.
- When to go
- Thursday is the student night. Spanish evenings start late — before eleven you will be early.
- On a student budget
- Van Dyck is the cheap street: bars there serve a drink and a hamburger-sized tapa for a few euros. Term time is busy and August is dead, which is worth knowing if your course is in summer.
