Monte Igueldo

What it is

The hill at the western end of the bay, with a funicular from 1912 running to a small, faded amusement park at the top and the definitive view down the coast.

Getting there

Funicular from the end of Ondarreta beach; a return is a few euros.

When to go

Just before sunset.

Walk up if you would rather keep the fare — it takes about forty minutes and the path is easy.
