Malvarrosa beach
A city beach you reach by tram
- What it is
- A wide sand beach at the end of the tram line, with a promenade of paella restaurants behind it. It is a working city beach rather than a resort.
- Getting there
- Tram line 4 or bus from the centre, twenty minutes, normal city fare.
- When to go
- June to October to swim. Out of season it is a good walk and empty.
- On a student budget
- Free, and the single best argument for Valencia over Madrid. The paella places on the front are for tourists; locals eat paella at lunchtime, inland, and it is a lunch dish rather than a dinner.
